Although this sandal is vaguely monk-like in a way, it's one of those pairs that when I walk by it in a store or mall or wherever it is present I can't take my eyes off of it. Simple but punchy with the red suede upper these Madden's are humbly pretty.

Aside from the do-good nature of the brand, something about these shoes are so intriguing to me. So simple, so comfy. I can see myself running around committing to every day chores with a pair of broken in jeans, a tee, and an iced coffee. I love the color too.

Okay, so I know it's 95 degrees outside in hot and humid Miami but I love, love, looove, these booties! And yes, it is suede but they are baby pink. Soft and petal like for spring through summer, paired with high waist urban renewal shorts. Who says you can't enjoy a platform bootie in the daytime?

Reminds me of the Lucky Brand Wooden Platforms I have but a little less statement-y. As a matter of fact these are so wonderfully understated and simple that they would make it easy to wear with just about anything. A kitty sized heel for a lady on the go. Throw on some black jeans, oversized white tee with accompanying round frames and you've got yourself a ready to take on the day outfit.

If there is one place that I want bells and whistles, it is on my shoes. The intricate lace up and rough around the edges look to these shoes made my little heart flutter. Distressed black leather, red inner zipper, and the corset-like lace style made this a boot I could not live without.

I can always rely on a good ol' Steve Madden shoe to satisfy my fix for sole. These puppies paired with a touch of femininity make for one memorable outfit and many more to come.

Vintage? Pattern looks like it! I was utterly bored while waiting for my boyfriend to finish up his tattoo session so, of course, my boredom took me for a stroll into some local boutiques in the Miami area. I smell trouble! There it was on a dress form in the window of Cheap n Chic boutique, just staring at me and luring me to come in and try it on.

I got so lucky. It was the last one and it was in my size! The fabric is slightly textured cotton knit. The belt isn't my favorite but it's easily inter-changeable. One thing lead to another with all the, "Oh, it looks so good on you! You've gotta buy it. It's the last one!" And I ended up buying it. I'm not one to give into the pressure of hard core retail sharks but I had this one in the bag anyway. No way I could have left it up for grabs.

And that it is! A co-worker walked in with this b e a-utiful color on her nails. That same night I went on a hunt to find it. Usually, I worry that a color this bright will look too cheesy and fluorescent but it had the right amount of bright and tame. Again, Essie saves the day with this coral-y pink color. Refreshing. Bright. Cheerful. Perfect on toes.

I was flipping away at the pages of GLAMOUR magazine and spotted these uniquely eye-catching earrings. I have yet to see these in person; I've actually never seen these sold anywhere. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places...

Every way, I love them! Subtle, cool, and surprisingly ethnic. And perfect for people like me that have commitment issues to real earrings.

American Apparel Fitted Turtle Neck Crop Tee

This trend has already caught on pretty quickly and I find it hard to believe, people go crazy over crops! American Apparel seems to get this one right. Especially this style of crop top. It is so wonderfully 90's and reminds me for some reason of Jennifer Aniston circa Friends.

I love this tee and, of course, already purchased it in black and nude. In the above picture, the color is oatmeal and as soon as I can get my paws on it, I will. The proportion of a crop top is interesting and aesthetically pleasing. For those of you brave enough, it might be a trend that you should try.

A fitted crop tee with a floor length skirt, a fitted crop tee with some high waist shorts or wide leg pants. To do it right, the proportions should balance out each other. If it's tight on top, make sure the bottom half is somewhat voluminous. If it's loose on top, pair it with a hip hugging bottom. It all depends on what shape works best for your body.

Final verdict: the crop top will be a prominent staple in my wardrobe over the summer. Hopefully come fall/winter I can find one that is long sleeve with a scoop back!

So Seventies-Lucky Brand Wooden Platform

So Seventies

I found these big shoes, (favorite kind of shoes), at a Macy's in San Antonio, TX. I felt as if I could pass these off as vintage wooden platforms from the seventies, although, they might possess that extra hint of modern to take away from that previous statement.

Either way, I love them to death. As you can tell, they've become well acquainted with pavements of all sorts and even encountered some corners. What can I say? I beat them up. They become a little more charming with each scuff as well as a little less attractive to the eye. Oops.

Quite often do these shoes get complements. I am also questioned as to how I walk in them. You see, the sole is completely wooden and has absolutely no flexibility. However, on courageous days, I sometimes wear these for 8 hour shifts. They're just the cherry on top to most of my outfits. I can go to work looking something like Mother Teresa but these shoes some how pull it all together and make it so chic.

Overall, easy to walk in with some practice and prudence. Extra emphasis on the prudence, especially since I think I may have fractured my toe today with a clumsy moment. Beauty is pain, I suppose.
